Air Water recently announced that Air Water India, its wholly owned subsidiary, has decided to construct a new plant to produce liquefied oxygen, nitrogen and argon, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, a state situated in southern India.

Construction will start in October, 2023 and operation is scheduled to take place in October 2024. Total production capacity is 6,900N㎥/h. oxygen is 5,100N㎥/h, nitrogen is 1,600N㎥/h, argon is 200N㎥/h.

In 2019, the company acquired part of the industrial gas business from two industrial gas majors that had been operating the industrial gas business in India. The plant will be the first of the Company-owned plants, for which design, construction, equipment installation and operation will be undertaken by the Group.

The Company anticipates that the construction of a new production base in the southern area of India will accelerate the growth of its businesses in India.
