Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (TNSC), a Japanese industrial gas company in Nippon Sanso Holdings Group, will collaborate with Toho Gas Co., Ltd. in the hydrogen (H2) business as part of the efforts to achieve carbon neutrality.
Toho Gas is constructing a H2 production plant at its Chita-Midorihama factory (Chita City, Aichi Prefecture) with the aim of building a H2 supply chain that contributes to carbon neutrality. The plant’s production capacity is 1.7 metric tons per day. Operation is scheduled to start in June 2024.
This collaboration will include the utilization of facilities for H2 transportation and supply, as well as the alternative procurement of H2 during periodic inspections of the plant. With this move, Toho Gas will steadily prepare to become a regional H2 supplier.
TNSC will procure a portion of the H2 produced at the plant and sell it together with its partner Chita Kouatsu Gas Co.,Ltd. to expand H2 sales channels.
