TotalEnergies and Air Products (AP) recently have signed a 15-year agreement for the annual supply in Europe of 70,000 tons of green H2 starting in 2030. This first long-term deal follows TotalEnergies’ call for tenders for the supply of 500,000 tons per year of green H2 to decarbonize TotalEnergies’ European refineries.
Under the agreement, AP will deliver at TotalEnergies’ Northern European refineries’ doorstep, green H2 from AP’ global supply network. This H2 will avoid around 700,000 tons of CO©ü each year.
Noting that AP started on the journey of producing clean hydrogen seven years ago, Seifi Ghasemi, AP’ Chairman, said, “We always believed that if we made clean hydrogen available at commercial
scale, the demand would be there. This contract validates our long-term strategy.”
At the same time, TotalEnergies and AP have signed a MOU for the supply of renewable power, which entails the signing of a first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 150§Ó produced at a solar project in Texas.
