Chart Industries' Biomedical Division recently announced that price increase on cryo-biological freezer range
Chart said, "The world price for steel has been rising steadily over the past two years.
Over the next two months, many of our long-term contracts for steel supply are ending.
It has helped buffer the Cryobiological product line from the most serious raw material cost increases, although we have experienced material surcharges and increased transportation costs as oil prices have risen."
The base price of stainless steel for example has increased by 21% this year alone, with additional 60% surcharges. The price of Aluminum from the mill has increased by 17%.
Chart will increase in their list prices in the 10%~12% range, effective November 1, 2004 to take account of these higher material costs.
