Following its acquisition of a portion of Messer, the Air Liquide (AL) has just signed an agreement to sell the CO2 activities (Burgbrohl plant) to be divested in Germany.
The sale of these activities complies with the agreement signed between AL and the EC on March 15, 2004 to meet anti-trust requirements.
The transaction is based on a sales multiple slightly higher than the acquisition price multiple.
AL explained that it chose Tyczka, a well-known manufacturer in the German industrial gas market, as its proposals are consistent with existing activities and as it intends to keep operations and related jobs.
In line with AL' plans, discussions continue with several potential buyers for the sale of the other activities to be divested in Germany. (Large Industry activities, bulk and cylinder etc)
