Air Products hydrogen fueling technology was placed into use for the first time ever at a retail site in Asia as BP Singapore held a public launch ceremony to officially open its hydrogen filling station, located in the eastern suburb area of Singapore.
The station makes BP the first energy company in the world to provide the environmentally friendly fuel at an existing retail site, alongside conventional fuels.
Air Products' Series 200 fueling technology, a totally integrated vehicle fueling system, is designed to meet early vehicle fleet fueling requirements by providing the customer flexibility of using hydrogen generated on-site, or a distributed hydrogen supply, integrated with storage and vehicle dispensing capabilities.
The hydrogen fueling facility at Singapore has the capacity to dispense 70㎏ of hydrogen per day. Initially, it will provide fuel for six cars supplied by DaimlerChrysler.
