This month, the Messer began setting up a specialised technical center for the development of new welding and cutting technologies at the Hochschule Niederrhein.
For Messer, the proximity of its Krefeld site, where the R&D department is located, to the tenth largest technical university in Germany and its infrastructure offer the ideal prerequisites for a collaborative partnership.
Close contact with the technical university’ materials and joining technology department is intended to further strengthen the exchange of specialist knowledge and joint work on innovative projects. In the process, the focus will be on the development of protective welding gas mixtures for diverse materials such as galvanised sheet metal, high-alloy steels and aluminium alloys.
The technical center supplements the international network of other international technical centers for welding and cutting technologies run by Messer in Switzerland, Hungary and China.
