The European Commission (EU) in Brussels recently approved Linde AG's sale of Linde Refrigeration to the American 'Carrier Corporation', a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
The approval of the sale, the contract for which was signed on March 15, 2004, was met with no objections.
This resolution is the decisive requirement for the successful realization of the transaction. The parties to the agreement expect closing (the legal transfer of Linde Refrigeration to Carrier) to occur during the third quarter of 2004.
