Air Liquide recently announced it has successfully installed its patented PYREJET technology on several electric arc furnaces at steel mills in Korea, China, Russia, France and Germany in the past two years, with new systems due to start up soon in the U.S., Brazil and China. Additionally, there are more than 25 other existing PYREJET installations worldwide.
Air Liquide’s PYREJET systems are innovative technologies that help the steel industry to recycle steel in an electric arc furnace. PYREJET combines the advantages of safety, flexible usage with an improved performance of the operation and productivity gains through reduced electrical power required, the elimination of consumable lances, a reduction in electrode and refractory consumption, and increased metallic yield.
PYREJET is also a burner that provides additional energy to reduce the melting time even more.
