The industrial gas operations which were formerly held by Aventis China Investment Co. Ltd. (ACIC) have now been taken over by Messer Griesheim.
This development has allowed Messer to join the ranks of the major foreign industrial gas providers in China, where it stands to claim a market share of approximately five percent. All parties have agreed to maintain strict silence with regard to the purchase price.
Seven ACIC companies supplement Messer operations in China.
Messer Griesheim was already represented by a total of seven companies in the industrial core regions of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang in the east of the country, Guangdong in the south as well as Sichuan, Hunan and Yunnan (central and southwest China).
BOC explained that by acquiring the ACIC operations, BOC are increasing our involvement in an important growth market and have secured a significant position in key areas of China.
